Job Title: Commercial/Real Estate Loan Officer
Department: Lending
Reports To: Executive Vice President
FLSA Status: Exempt



SUMMARY
Makes and services a wide variety of commercial and real estate loans, both secured and unsecured; assists senior officers in handling larger and more complex loans, and provides other customer services as may be required. Attends to the needs of current and prospective customers seeking loans that may involve unsecured funds and/or credit secured by mortgages or other collateral. Interviews applicants to develop information concerning their businesses, needs, desires, abilities, and earnings to determine whether a loan may be an acceptable risk. Obtains and directs the analysis of all necessary financial data. Conducts credit checks and makes plant or company visits as necessary. Makes decisions on loans and terms within established lending limits and according to Loan Policy, or makes recommendations to Loan Review Committee. Follows current loans to ensure complete compliance with terms and conducts collection activities as necessary. Participates with Sr. Loan Officers on larger loans. Obtains and analyzes financial data and provides service on approved lines of credit and equipment financing loans. Gives financial advice and counsel to current and prospective customers. Drafts necessary documents and agreements. Follows Loan Policies as directed. Calls on current and prospective customers to develop new business and increase or retain existing business. Refers customers to other departments as appropriate. Has direct supervision responsibilities for Loan Assistants including performance evaluations, salary recommendations, training, career development, hiring, and termination.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Interviews applicant and requests specified information for loan application.

Analyzes applicant financial status, credit, and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan.

Administer loan portfolio as directed by Loan Policy.

Compiles loan package and facilitates negotiation of loan structure with applicant, including fees, loan repayment options, and other credit terms.

Approves loan within established lending limits or makes recommendation to Loan Review Committee.

Ensures loan agreements are complete and accurate according to Loan Policy.

Assures timely loan closing and funding activities.

Responsible for collection activities for past due or defaulted loans.

Supervision of Loan Assistants (hiring, termination, job development, performance evaluations, salary recommendations, motivation, and keeping informed of changes in Bank policies and procedures).

Identifies and analyzes potential loan markets to develop prospects for commercial loans.

Calls on current and prospective clients to develop new business and increase or retain existing business.

Promotes and cross-sells other Bank products and services as appropriate to customer requirements.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises 1-3 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Bank's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems; performance evaluations; salary recommendations; training; career development; hiring; and termination.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to listen and discern customer needs.

Job Title: Personal Banker
Department: Retail
Reports To: Bank Manger
FLSA Status: Non Exempt


SUMMARY
Sells a full range of banking services to individual customers, with emphasis on personal finances, consumer lending, and customer service. Responsible for management of a portfolio which includes using portfolio data and relationship selling techniques to bring in additional business from present customers, develop solid relationships with potential customers, and to service and retain both present and potential customer relationships. Expected to use financial management problem solving skills, sales skills, and available account information to build profitable, long-term customer relationships and to increase retail banking sales to maximum levels. Meets with customers to discuss personal financial needs and recommends ways in which the Bank can serve their needs. Practices consultive selling. Provides customer service on assigned accounts; opens new accounts. Answers questions concerning accounts, consumer loans, statements, IRA's, etc. Analyzes credit and financial information for processing of consumer loans for individual customers. Cross sells a full range of personal banking services to present and potential customers and refers customers to other departments as appropriate. Participates in a business development programs in conjunction with assigned account responsibilities, which includes outside calling on present and potential customers. Responsible for tracking sales and customer service programs and accurate bank record keeping.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Manages a portfolio.

Promotes and cross-sells Bank products and services as appropriate to customer requirements.

Generates new business to assist in meeting financial goals for the location.

Calls on existing and prospective clients to develop new business and to retain and expand existing business.

Provides ongoing relationship servicing with current customers to maintain goodwill and gain additional business.

Evaluates needs of potential customers and offers appropriate financial products and services.

Prepares and compiles new customer applications and information to open new accounts.

Ensures completeness of consummer loan documentation on new account set-up.

Oversees timely closing and funding of consummer loans.

Informs and advises customers of status or enhancements to current account productivity, and suggests resolution on account disputes and other account activity.

Responds to customer inquiries and requests regarding account.

Coordinates and assists data entry and loan production personnel in resolving credit problems, delinquent payment issues, and other related issues.

Tracking of sales and customer service programs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
